The result of a government fruitful initiative to irrigate the semi-arid South Okanagan and turn it into a viable fruit-growing region, this small town nevertheless has a unique and growing community.
Stimulated by numerous visitors drawn to Oliver's renowned vineyards, this city has a growing population and is cultivating a unique arts scene. The number of restaurants and accommodations is also growing. Currently, visitors can stay in signature winery guesthouses, lakeshore retreats and bed and breakfasts while discovering a series of art galleries and enjoying numerous outdoor activities. Outdoor activities include bird watching, water activities, hiking, mountain biking, golf and winter activities.
